How We Work
From Literary Discovery to New Storytelling Possibilities
Crownline Story Partner explores distinctive books and literary works, assesses their storytelling potential, and helps identify relevant opportunities across film, television, podcasts and audio. Our approach combines editorial judgement, thoughtful research and a respect for authors' work and rights.
- 1
Stage 1
Literary Discovery
Authors and authorised representatives introduce books for consideration. Crownline reviews the premise, genre, themes, audience and distinctive qualities of each work.
- 2
Stage 2
Editorial Assessment
Selected works may receive an editorial assessment examining their narrative strengths, characters, themes, audience appeal and possible relevance to screen or audio storytelling.
- 3
Stage 3
Rights and Authorisation
Before sharing a work or its non-public materials with relevant third parties, Crownline establishes the appropriate permissions and clarifies who controls the relevant rights. An author may not personally control every adaptation right, particularly when a publisher or agent is involved.
- 4
Stage 4
Opportunity Research
Where appropriate, Crownline researches potentially relevant producers, development professionals, podcast programmes, audio platforms or other industry contacts. Any outreach must be relevant, authorised and consistent with the actual services available.
- 5
Stage 5
Communication and Next Steps
Authors are informed about the scope of the service, any available feedback and potential next steps. Introductions and submissions do not guarantee interest, representation, an adaptation, a deal or a media placement.

What to Expect
Every work is considered on its individual merits.
Authors retain their rights unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.
Any paid service, fee, deliverable or additional agreement will be explained clearly before the author commits.
